Customer communication
Talk to your customers without giving up your personal phone number.
A dedicated business SMS line, two-way conversations, "on the way" notifications, and 24-hour appointment reminders — all on the Crew plan.
Email is the default; SMS is the upgrade
Free and Solo tiers send everything by email — invoices, receipts, reminders, estimates. Most operators are fine with that. If your customers expect text updates (and increasingly they do), the Crew tier unlocks two-way SMS.
Why we charge for SMS
Sending text messages costs us money. The alternative is to bake SMS into the price of every plan, which means free and solo operators subsidize the operators who actually use it. We'd rather charge fairly. 500 messages/month included on Crew; $0.02/message after.
"On the way" notifications
When you start your route, customers get a polite "We're 12 minutes out" text. They love this. You stop getting "are you coming today?" texts. The Crew tier alone reduces inbound customer texts by ~60%.
24-hour reminders
Customers get an automatic reminder the day before their service. Reduces no-shows and gate-locked properties dramatically.
Two-way conversations
Customers can reply to your texts. Their replies show up in MowNext as a conversation thread, not on your personal phone. When a tech is in the field, they see new messages from that customer at the top of the job screen.
Branded templates
Your business name shows up as the sender (after a one-time A2P 10DLC registration we walk you through). All messages are signed with your business name automatically.
Compliance, handled
SMS in the US requires A2P 10DLC registration to actually deliver. We handle the registration paperwork, get you a Standard Brand approval, and deal with the carriers. You just see "approved" or "in review."
